Frequently Asked Questions
What is Kholesterol Blocker™?
Kholesterol Blocker™ is a unique
phytosterol dietary supplement in a pleasant tasting chewable table.
What are phytosterols?
Phytosterols are naturally occurring
plant sterols, in this case derived from soybeans, which have a molecular
structure very similar to cholesterol.
What are the benefits of phytosterols?
Numerous clinical research studies,
published in the world’s most prestigious medical journal, have shown the
ability of phytosterols to help the body to block and regulate the absorption
of dietary cholesterol from the gastrointestinal tract into the bloodstream
and to inhibit the re-absorption of cholesterol forming bile acids during
the digestive process.*
How do plant derived phytosterols
work?
Because of the structure of the
phytosterols, the plant sterol are mistaken for cholesterol by the body
and become attached to cholesterol absorption sites. When cholesterol
enters the area, it then bypasses the "occupies" sites and moves out of
the digestive tract.* research studies have shown a regulation from
7 to 10 percent in total cholesterol and 10 to 12 percent in LDL "bad"
cholesterol.
How do I take Kholesterol Blocker™?
Chew one tablet at the beginning
of each meal, three times per day. Before meals rich in cholesterol,
such as eggs for breakfast, chew two tablets.
What if I forget to take a tablets?
Take two at the start of the next
meal.
What if a meal is particularly
rich in cholesterol?
Before meals rich in cholesterol
chew two tablets. You should supplement with at least the same amount
of phytosterols as the amount of cholesterol in the foods you are eating.
Each Kholesterol Blocker™ tablet contains 400 milligrams of natural, plant
derived phytosterols.
What if a meal contains no cholesterol?
Even if a meal, for example cereal
for breakfast, contains no cholesterol at all, still chew one tablet.
The effect of phytosterols is not limited to dietary cholesterol.
It also helps the body to regulate the uptake of cholesterol producing
bile acids that occur during the normal digestive process.*
What if I am enjoying a long meal
and dessert is served an hour or two after I have chewed my Kholesterol
Blocker™ tablets?
Phytosterols actively block the
absorption of dietary cholesterol for approximately one to one and half-hours
after chewing a tablet. For long meals, chew an additional table
at the beginning of dessert.
Do phytosterols also help the
body regulate the absorption of dietary fats?
Phytosterols affect only the absorption
of dietary cholesterol, not fat. One should still limit the consumption
of dietary fats, especially the saturated fats, as part of a heart healthy
lifestyle.
Can I take too much Kholesterol
Blocker™?
Kholesterol Blocker™ is a completely
safe, plant-derived nutritional supplement. While there is no reason
to take more than three tablets daily, other than when having particularly
cholesterol-rich meal, there should be no concern over taking too much.
What if I forget to bring my Kholesterol
Blocker™ tablets with me?
It is good idea to keep a supply
of Kholesterol Blocker™ tablets with you at all times. Keep them
in your car, in your pocket or purse, in your office, on the kitchen or
dining room table, in your attaché case or in your golf bag so you
will always have them with you.
Are there any side effects or
adverse reactions?
Phytosterols act within the digestive
tract and are not absorbed into the bloodstream, much like some forms of
dietary fiber. Thus they are particularly safe and are virtually
free of any known side effects or adverse reactions.
Should I take Kholesterol Blocker™
even though my doctor has prescribed a cholesterol-lowering drug?
This is question that you should
ask your doctor, but phytosterols have no known drug interactions.
Will my doctor approve of my taking
Kholesterol Blocker™?
While not every physician will be
familiar with phytosterols at this time, efforts are being made to educate
the medical community as to these plant sterols in maintaining healthy
cholesterol.* Literally dozens of articles documenting the benefits
of phytosterols have appeared in the world’s most prestigious medical journal.
How long can I continue to take
phytosterols?
Phytosterols in general, and the
plant phytosterols contained in Kholesterol Blocker™ in particular, are
completely safe and totally natural. One can take them for unlimited
periods of times.
Do phytosterols affects both the
good HDL cholesterol and the bad LDL cholesterol?
Phytosterols have no effect on the
good HDL cholesterol.
Phytosterols are now available
in margarine. Why not use them?
The phytosterol-laced margarines
are good products, but they are three to four times as expensive as ordinary
margarines and still contain five gram of fat and 45 calories per serving.
Kholesterol Blocker™ is completely fat-free and contains only 5 calories
per table. Moreover, margarine is not conveniently taken to restaurants
or on vacations. Also, you may not wish to have margarine with every
meal. Kholesterol Blocker™ is the most convenient dietary supplement delivery
system of phytosterols ever developed.
How about other phytosterol dietary
supplements?
Other phytosterol dietary supplements
must be swallowed 30 minutes prior to meals. This is inconvenience
and most people forget to properly "time" taking the tables. Kholesterol
Blocker™ tablets can be chewed whenever one begins to eat. No timing
is necessary
